Hello Reader, Constructing Modern Knowledge Invites You to a World of Learning Adventures! We are thrilled to announce that this August, Constructing Modern Knowledge is going Downunder for the first time ever. Thanks to the generosity of our hosts, Westbourne Grammar School, a version of our unique immersive professional learning event will be held on their beautiful campus 25km from Melbourne, Australia August 12-15, 2025. Since 2008, the Constructing Modern Knowledge institute has been viewed as the gold standard for educators interested in creative computing, making, and project-based learning. One educator even CMK attended ten times! Please join Gary Stager, Sylvia Martinez, Brian C. Smith and other members of the CMK team for what promises to be a fantastic set of learning adventures. Our guest speakers celebrate Australia’s remarkable contributions to the world of educational computing, school reinvention, and the importance of the arts in a STEM-centric era. 2025 has special significance for Gary Stager, founder and CEO of Constructing Modern Knowledge. In 1990, Gary was invited to present a paper at the World Conference on Computers in Sydney where he first encountered wonderful and slightly crazy Aussie educators who were providing every student with a personal laptop computer. Gary was invited to return to Australia a month later and began what would become decades of work, research, and the earning of a Ph.D. in a country he loves. If your school has portable personal computers, Gary and his Australian colleagues played a non-insignificant role in making that a reality across the globe. Constructing Modern Knowledge Australia is an opportunity for Aussie educators to enjoy the CMK experience and for overseas educators an invitation to visit the glorious continent. Melbourne is one of the world’s great cities and we’d love to share it with you! CMK Australia 2025 will be more intimate than the US editions of our institute. Read what other educators have said about their CMK experience and check out the new CMK Australia website to register today. There are still a few spots left for what promises to be a very special experience. That’s why educators from at least 7 countries have already registered.
